Rear tail light bulb removal?
Ok....you pull the bulb from the inside most bulb on each side according to the back fascia install directions. Now half the time my lights blink ultra fast which indicates that a bulb is out. Well yeah....I removed it!
So I end up turning the indicator off and on several times till it works just to make one turn. Should I just paint the removed bulb with black engine paint and reinstall or it there another trick to getting rid of that bulb out quirk? |

Did Saleen really remove the inner most taillight bulb on production S cars?

yup...otherwise you would get glow coming from behind the cover like an eclipse (the moon/sun not the car) when the lights are on at night.

I fixed it...
I painted a set of bulbs black and reinstalled them. Problem is gone. So there wouldnt be any heat issues I used engine paint. |

Not a bad idea. I wonder what Saleen did to fix that problem. Could you just have spliced the wires together?

I think your amperage drop would still be there if you spliced which would trigger the rapid flash "bulb is out" default.
I originally did what Saleen's instructions said to do. Pulling the bulb didnt make sense but thats what they said to do. My black bulbs now keep the amperage in the normal level so no more super rapid flash 1/2 the time. I turned them on at night and didnt see any light leakage from the inside 1/3 so its good now. |
