Shaun,

I saw Steve yesterday and he is excited to be appearing at your fine dealership in October!

The Club is looking forward to helping get a great turnout for your event, and we'll help get the word out!

Stay tuned, everyone!

Will the new 2011 SMS 302 Signature Mustang be available to test drive?

I recently drove the 2011 SPV 302S and I would like to compare them....

Hi Tim! It's best to ask Newins Bayshore Ford for a possible test drive. The vehicles on display during these Signature Events are dealer stock.

We look forward to your purchase of a new SMS 302!

Dave and friends of Steve,

Ya never know about me... I bought my first Saleen from a magazine article in 1985... using the 1984 ordering guide.

I liked what was offered... Steve and Liz understood the Calif. lifestyle, but Bostonian's know what they like.

Babes and Convertibles. lol

But now I am older and wiser like Steve and change might be good for this old soul.

If, it works out that I can go for a drive... I might order a SMS...

Phil, Steve along with Liz might have a car that this old Boston boy might wanna have to add to history.

Who knows...

I just heard from Shaun at Newins Bayshore Ford -- he has an SMS 302 coupe in stock, and is gearing up for a big event -- it will be advertised in the newspaper and on the radio!

More details to come, but plan on coming out for an exciting day with fellow Saleen owners and Steve Saleen!

Anyone that want to help out, please PM me and we'll gladly put you to work. :)

Thanks!

Hey T,
As far as everyway goes just makes things easier. A little more pricey, but staying clear of the traffic and city potholes is worth it. Also LIE can at times be a drag. Once your down, look me up. I personally feel Bridgeport/Port Jefferson Ferry is easier than New London/ Orient Ferry. The Bridgeport/Port Jefferson Ferry leaves you off in Port Jefferson which is reasonably close. Orient Ferry you still have an hours drive when you get off.
Talk Soon,
L

I am experiencing problems with my antique Saleen and will be driving my F-150 down. I was wondering if anyone had a shotgun seat avail., I could meet them and ride with someone to the show...

Any takers?

You're welcome to ride with me if you're coming by bridge. If you're going by ferry then it's out of the way for me. I'm in Nassau about 15 minutes east of the Throgs neck.

Let me know if you're interested.

Andy

I'm going to drive the whole way. I've decided not to take the New London or Bridgeport ferry. After some thought, I don't want to subject my car to the salt water and they pack those cars in really tight.

Anyone who gets there early and can help direct Saleens in one place, we may need some additional help. Please check in with Shaun Blanco of Newins, or Fred Blum of SMS, to see if you can assist with anything.

Steve will be signing at 11:00 a.m. and again at about 2:00 p.m. for an hour each. He'll have complimentary SMS 302 posters that he will sign for you during those times only. He'll gladly sign an extra item or two if you have it. He'll sign Saleen vehicles towards the end of the event, or as he has time.

Had a great time at Newins and want to thank Shaun and the gang from Newins for putting on such a great event. Steve as usual was the consummate gentlemen fielding everyones requests for autographs and answering all questions. Everyone that was present felt the commaraderie between the owners and enthusiasts of the Saleen Marque and the Man himself. It was a fun day which I am sure I can share for all who attended.
I feel that the rift between factions of the two Saleen clubs was not displayed or felt by anyone who attended. Maybe all should take a cue here unity will only make our interests as owners of these fine cars grow. Division will destroy it for most. Our fun is in numbers and enjoying each others company at these events. It would be amazing what could be done with a little hard work. Never know what the future will bring... Dare we say a co-club sponsored event with SMS and SPV showing their cars and doing ride and drives... ahhh dreams....

Glad it went well, wish I could have been there.

That may not be as big of a dream as you think. The MCA Nationals in MD next year might just be the place for that. SPV is interested in attending and SMS might be there too. If we can't get both companys there atleast we can have both clubs and a bunch of owners sharing the fun of the event.

Luke Good luck with the elections and I wish Chris luck running for president. ( Everyone please dont turn this in to a SCOA election debate not the right place)

I had a great time at the Saleen meet and greet. I got there at 2pm, Steve signed my car by 2:05 and I was gone 2:10pm.
The least amount of time at Newins Ford the better. I still remember how horrably they handeled a Saleen warranty claim.

Sometimes you have to put the past behind you. Newins did an excellent job on the meet and greet and if you would have stayed around long enough to breathe you might have met some really nice guys that love these automobiles. Maybe next time.

I do agree that there are pleanty of nice people there. I actually knew a few of them from other events.

It was a long drive to Long Island.
I live up in Mass near the Vermont/ New Hampshire boarder,
but it was great seeing everyone.... I made new friends too....

I enjoy both clubs... we can live together in harmony

Shaun was a great host... I helped him out by parking a few cars that pulled in... I wish my antique Saleen could have been there too...

But my friends and I did snap a few photo's and here they are:

I loved seeing a S7

It was a tight fit.....

Let's go... for a spin....

the owner of the S7 had alot of questions ......

I brought back Steve to the roots of Saleen Autosport..

There was time to talk about the SMS Mustang....

I had dug out the original magazine I had seen back in 1984,
which had influenced my decision to move forward.
I ordered and bought a Saleen Mustang from what
I had seen in that publication.

25 years and counting of Heritage......

More to come.......
