Low vacuum SC bypass valve
I am in the process of getting a Lito tune. Because the car has aftermarket cams, I need a lighter pressure bypass valve. Does anyone know of a low vacuum valve that will fit on the Series VI supercharger?

Haven't heard of this problem before, I run various cams in my cars and haven't come across this issue
What is his reasoning ?

It is a drivability issue. Here is a quote from his email:
“ With cams that have some overlap, the vacuum will be lower. The spring will still be the same, so the valve will close (preventing the recirculation) and it will get into boost quite sooner than it should. This spring should be calibrated according to the vacuum so a lower vacuum, lower spring pressure, with hot cams, usually you end doing no spring at all (would need a super light one but no spring works OK).” I removed my valve to do a “spring removal mod” rather than replace with a lighter spring valve. I decided to test my valve and realized it doesn’t hold vacuum. So since I need a new one anyway, I thought I would just buy one with a lighter spring. My other option is to buy a standard one and do the mod on it. |
