Default Houston Coffee & Cars - Oct 1, 2011

Houston 's Coffee & Cars is this Saturday and the weather forecast looks great. In addition to our regular awesome get-together, this week includes a special enhancement. Immediately following the C&C, a cruise to Galveston is planned in conjunction with the Mustang Club of Houston's Open Car Show at the Lone Star Flight Museum (see attached flyer).
Entry fee is $25 and registration is from 9 to 12. This will be a participant judged show. Besides an awesome cruise to Galveston and car show, you'll have the opportunity to check out the vintage aircraft and (for an additional fee) take a picture of your car with the planes. They will also be offering discounted flight opps for participants.
I will be coordinating getting our cars together at C&C to meet up with MCOH and others to roll out from Vintage Park for the cruise.

Please see details from the C&C organizer below.
Best time to get there is about 7am and we generally don't roll in together, but rather we meet at a pre-defined meeting spot.
Here's a link to the meeting spot (zoom in and look for the Saleen logo on the easterly side of the venue).

It's just first come, first served, so if you come in later, you'll likely have to park away from the group.
If you're going to make it, please give me a shout

Fellow Gearheads,

October 1st is a Saturday this year and that means we're going to start the month off with Coffee & Cars Houston. We anticipate a large group this month, and so we have a few announcements to make:

First, Lamborghini of Houston will be bringing out their completely new model, the Aventador, as well as one of the very rare first-year (1963) GT350s. More information about this at www.houstoncac.com/aventador.

Second, John Hennessey from Hennessey Performance is bringing out his newest Venom GT.

We had a problem with double parking again last month in the front areas of the Park. We are asking you not to do this. It creates greater traffic congestion and causes safety concerns with our host. Since we are now filling the main front parking lots of the Park early, if there are no more spaces, please park past the arch and in the internal streets of the center. Several car clubs will be utilizing these internal spaces, which not only provide some shade, but allow for more space and easier access to the shops, eateries, entrances and exits.

Also, please do not park in handicap spaces unless you have a handicap placard. It is against Texas law.

Be considerate with regards to saving spaces for other car owners. At this time, we're asking that limited spaces should be saved, and that they should only be saved until 7:00 am. After that point Security will be collecting all orange cones.

As we've said from the beginning, Coffee & Cars Houston is a non-commercial gathering. The management of Vintage Park has asked us not to display banners or advertising for any entity, whether for-profit or not. This includes tents as well. Please do not pass out flyers. There will be no products or services sold on the site outside of tenant sales. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet on the owner's property. Please respect their decision on this.

Once again we will have signs and volunteers with badges on hand, and three HPD officers on duty as well as site security to help with traffic control. We will not tolerate reckless driving either before, during, or on exit from the site. Remember, it will only take one incident to close this gathering down. Just one.

We appreciate everyone's efforts at leaving the Park the way we found it, free of trash. Our host appreciates, really appreciates, this and they realize that we not only car about our cars, but the environment we park them in.

For those of you who have not been able to make our previous gatherings, a map of the site is at:
http://coffeeandcarshouston.com/HoustonCnCMap.jpg. There are a number of tenants of Vintage Park who have graciously opened up early to make us welcome.

These include:

It's a Treat - opens 8 (or maybe earlier)

As always, if you are reading this, chances are you're on the mailing list. However, if you know of someone who is attending or would like to be reminded, please send me a note, and I'll be happy to add them.

Hope to see you all Saturday morning,

Bill

I guess so Robert.
I know a whole lot more people that are not going to MF than are going.
You going to make it this year?
I definitely want to try to go sometime.
