How many of you have the jacket that came with the purchase a new car from an official dealership? I got one when I purchased my 1988.

Second question, How long did they issue these jackets and how rare are they?

Forum Member Greg Wackett has a large collection of Saleen clothing.

I have one silver & blue/teal 1986 jacket and three of the red, white, black 1988-9X jackets. A combination of the red zipper and black zipper models.

The jackets were available over-the-counter as well as with a new vehicle purchase. These jackets were offered, in various styles and colors, during the 1984-93 era as well as the 1994-98 era (I believe). I have vague memories of seeing "owners jacket" appearing in some piece of 1994-98 literature and seeing one or two or three collector quality mid-1990s Saleen Mustangs with a red, white, black jacket in the owner's documentation material.

I could be mistaken.

Thanks DAVE! You guy's are so cool. It's so fun to have found this site a couple of weeks ago and I have seen so many great Saleens and such. It's fun talking back and forth with Saleen Mustang owners. I thought I was the only one that loved them, LOL.

I would write more, but I'm off to see Hank Williams Jr. at the Hard Rock Casino here in Catoosa ,Ok.
