Default Just purchased Saleen 88-0035

Hello,

Im new to saleens, but have had several fox mustangs through the years. I bought a 1988 Saleen (car #35) the other day. Its clean and mostly stock. It has 82k original miles.

I am planning on picking it up tomorrow.

I have already ran a carfax and pulled the title info off the BMV website, but cannot find any info in regards to Saleen.

Are there any resources that would give more info about its Saleen origin? I couldn't find any info about saleen #35.

Thanks

Default 88's

I once purchased a 88 Saleen hatchback in Arkansas from a dealer that had no clue what he had. The year was 1992 and a regular Mustang LX was going for about $7000.00. That's what I paid him. My former wife nearly divorced me for buying collector auto's in those days. LOL. I brought it home to Tulsa and ran an ad in the local paper for $12,500. The first day of the ad, I had a guy offer me $12,400 and of course I sold it. Not a bad payday.

I sure miss that stang, not my ex....LOL

Just got it home earlier today. Took a quick pic when I pulled it in the garage.
Im very impressed with how well it drove and handled on the 1hr trip back.

Did you buy this from a guy named Matt in Ohio? Do you mind if I ask the price (current market value) of your 88?

I plan to go through everything mechanically and run it a mid Ohio road course. The car is great mechanically, but I want to go through it with a fine tooth comb.
I might also do a systemax HCI swap.
