Default Question: Ground Effects Screws? - New Saleen owner

I just bought an 1988 Saleen.

The car looks original and clean, but I noticed screws Assisting in holding on the front, rear and side ground effects. Is this correct?

If so, is there a source that sells the proper screws? where should they be placed?

Thanks

Default Screws

Sometime around 88-89 Saleen started getting alot of complaints about the bumpers sagging or in other words the double sided tape started coming loose. So to fix this they started using screws to hold on the front and rear bumpers on the 89 models. In the meantime they told the dealers to install screws if a customer came in with a complaint. This was sort of like a service bulletin from Saleen.

Coupey is 100% correct I know of two 88 off in #s by 20 or so one had tape and one had screws. A couple of 85's I have seen had poprivits in the side skirts to keep them on.

I discovered a couple of the screw holes holding on the side skirts have sarted to crack slightly. You would think they would use a small rubber washer or something to give some flex.
I think I will be pulling these off and reinstalling them.

Common problem, you can try that not sure it will really help. The car has some flex to it naturally.

See attachment for a 1989 vintage magazine article that follows the Saleen body kit installation on a production vehicle. The article states the correct location for the screws, I believe.
