Question Q: 2001 S281 cat-back?

Do any of you have a recommendation for replacement mufflers for my 2001 SC? It sounds like stock GT mufflers and I would like a better sound. Not crazy loud but something that lets the V8 sound come out a little more.
Thanks

Default 2001 Saleen exhaust system

Did Saleen change the exhaust system when installing the changes to the 2001 GT?

Default Picture of my muffler for Dave

Dave,
I'm thinking someone has changed the mufflers on my car. Do these pictures show enough for you to know if this muffler looks like an original one?

Frankherbst,
Not Dave but they appear to be original mufflers. I also have a 2001 with factory borla equipped cat back. I too wanted a more louder and aggressive sound. After tons of research and reviews I went with the slp loudmouth resonators.Took the car to a muffler shop they cut out the mufflers and welded in the slp’s. Was pleased with the new exhaust tone of the car, louder and more aggressive. Kept the mufflers in case I ever want to weld them back on.

Yes. These look like the Saleen/Borla muffler cases.
