:D Hi Claude.
You must be Claude from Switzerland? You must Have bought your PJ through Champbell and Ron Ward? Do you know when your going to get your PJ?

Well Claude you are in for some excitement! The Saleen PJ is much better than I expected. In fact my other half was against getting it and now she would rather go for a rid e in the PJ than the Thunderbirds. It is quite the machine. They will hear and see you coming from miles away. The rumble from the exhaust and the sucking of air through the shaker is unbelievable. It winds very quickly and the shifting is fast and short strokes. The ride is hard and firm and it corners like a sports car. It reminds me of my '67 GTO with the 400 CU, ram air, hurst shifter and 4:11 rear end.

The PJ is a modern vesion of the old muscle cars of the 60s and early 70s.
Your gonna love your PJ.

Hey Guys!

New Post.

I've been the proud owner of 07-057 PJ since the day after Thanksgivinig! I posted pics of my car over at Mustangforums:
http://www.mustangforums.com/m_2308982/tm.htm

Lots of interest in the car. I'm waiting for my survey so I can join SOEC. Hopefully see more PJ guys over here. The only other person I know of is a guy on grabberorange.net who owns #75.

Bruce hit the nail on the head with this car. You just have to experience the sounds and feel of this car! I have over 600 miles on it so far, and no fit and finish issues whatsoever. I think I might be missing a decal or two ( I got the parnelli jones driver decal but not the Steve Saleen one, also the 1970 commemorative wreath isn't on my back window.)

I'll have to check into that later...

All's well in Oklahoma. Let's have a S302PJ area of the forum!!

Chuck

Default Saleen PJ

I have #65 which I received in February. This vehicle is truly a work of art. It is incredible to look at and just as awesome to drive. I have taken it to two car shows in Dallas so far. 1st place in Mustang category, then 1st place in Muscle Car category. It draws a big crowd.
First thing after delivery - add an active alarm system (Saleen forgot this), then add Lo-Jack (Saleen didn't even think about this).
The racing suspension feel is amazing, the rumble and the power are unbelievable. The gear shift takes a little getting used to - it is a bit notchy and can sometimes throw you off in shifting. One report I read on the intenet said that this is the best Mustang ever built. I agree 100%. I have heard that Saleen has now taken production orders for all 500 vehicles as of last week. A very happy owner.

I wouldn't be surprised if every one of them was indeed spoken for... I love my PJ more and more every day! God is good to us fortunate few, no? :)

I had to get used to a 5 speed again after driving an auto SUV for too long... But after the first day I felt totally comfortable with it.

My only complaint would be the squeeky brakes... Other than that, AWESOME! It definitely draws a crowd and is everything I ever wanted my past Mustangs to be...and more!

Here's a question: Is anyone using their PJ as a daily driver??

I am... Some of my buddies think I'm nuts and should shelve it after a fEw months, but I say it's a car...DRIVE IT!!! :)

Peace!

Good for you. Drive it every day. I don't yet, but my wife will have to take it to school everyday when our Explorer lease expires next month. At least it's only 3 miles from the house. My job is 20 miles so I don't want to put too many miles on PJ yet.

Noticed brake fluid on the flang of the reservoir. Rservoir is full so maybe a little overflow, but brakes don't squeek.

Clings for PJ are a little tacky. Show air bubbles. Had the side numbers made into magnetic clings at Fast Signs. About $100 for the 2 big 15's. Looks 200% better. Won't work on hood "15" since hood is composite so magnet won't stick.

Have fun with your awesome machine but remember "be careful out there".

Al

I'm glad you are all very happy with your PJ. Unfortunately I live in New England and since receiving my PJ in December its been out only three times for exercise. It still has less than 300 miles on it but the weather is about to change and off we go together for pure enjoyment of Old American Muscle like I use to drive back in the 60s.
Everytime I go to the garage its hard to believe that I am fortunate enough to own one of these limited editions.
You may want to go check out a site called grabberorange.net that is just all types of PONIES that have one thing in common they are all GO color.
Take care all and enjoy your rides!

hi every lucky owner of a pj 302.
I just bought car #329 last week. Drove it home from ray skillman ford to slidell, louisiana. That was a great drive. It didn't last as long as I thought. Go figure! Going to head out to the track next week to get some 1/4 mile runs in.
Can't wait!

Buck

I have number 158, purchased in Feb or '07, has 2500 miles on it. I really like the car. It is very much like the older muscle cars of the 60's. I have owned an '01 Bullitt, an '03 Cobra, a '67 390GT fastbacke, and different 6 Corvettes. This and the '67 427 'vette are my favorites. You definately get a lot of lookers in the car. It handles great on curvy roads, sounds awesome, has adequate power and looks great. I am glad to have one of the few around. Plan to keep it for a long time.

Nice selection of vehicles!

If anyone with a PJ would like to receive a copy of the Saleen Alley that featured the PJ for their literature collection... shoot me a PM with your name and vehicle number.

Limited amounts remain.

That's a great idea, Dave, and SOEC can do that one better.

For the first 50 PJ owner respondents who submit our Saleen Sales Survey at http://saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?t=3127 in its entirety, we will also include one of the 6-page PJ brochures. And if you were not already on the SOEC member roster, submitting the Survey will also serve to activate your complimentary 1-year SOEC membership courtesy of Saleen.

You must, however, specify in the Survey submission that you want either the Saleen Alley or the PJ brochure -- or both, and that you saw it in the forums.

Oh, and if you already returned the Survey, PM us and we'll happily fulfill your request.

Yours was mailed last week, but I was a little short on packing material, so if it doesn't arrive safely I'll gladly re-send.

WOW! This kind of response is why we keep doing what we do.

The club administrator(s) should be happy.

Tony, we received your request and will ship next week.

Please be sure you complete our SOEC-Saleen Survey if you haven't done so already -- this will also be a means by which we can activate the complimentary 1-year SOEC membership offered by Saleen. The unfortunate reality is that since Liz Saleen retired from being head of Team Saleen, those who have tried to fill her shoes have gotten way behind on getting new owners to us and I think you're one of those who slipped through the cracks.

How many miles do you have. I have 158 with 3k miles. Have you made any changes to it? Mine is totally stock and will probably remain that way. The only change I would make if maybe lower gears.

I have 700 miles. Hoping to drive in more in the next few months. I added sequential turn signals and gas struts for the hood. Stock other than that.

I have #39 delivered 12/2/06 and has 2600+ on the OD. It has several performance mods and I am looking into adding the Supershaker from Saleen. Welcome Ross.

I've got 5600 miles, no changes and don't plan on making any because that would take away from the value of the car.

I see you have had a few nice ones in the past and so have I. First one was a '67 GT 390, then I went off on a corvette tangent, owning 7 of those. I had an '01 Bullitt, and an '03 Cobra. At times, I ask why am I buying these cars and not enjoying driving them? I think I will start driving my PJ more. Going on a trip in the fall to the Smokies.

proud owner of pj #038
bone stock with 425 miles on her
fun to drive, look at and listen to.
she may have a for sale sign on her this weekend at the atco show.
need room for my new kr500(coming next month) and possibly a modified saleen challenger, so at this point the pj drew the short straw.

What do you think these cars will bring? I have thought about selling mine and buying a 67-70 model and having someone to restore it for me. For $60K, I could have a really nice car.

thx for the welcome dave
look forward to meeting with you at atco.
robert--60,000 is a far cry from their present value--maybe in 40 years, but certainly not today.

ciao for now

I paid over 59,000 for mine and would rather keep it than lose money on the car. Maybe I should just start driving it and enjoy the comforts of the 21st century while sounding like and looking somewhat like a 69-70 model. It is like most things I have purchased in the past, the excitement of owning something new/different wears off after a brief period of time. Kinda' like wives and girl friends.
