Default Chipping Chrome Saleen Rims

I was wondering if anyone has had an issues with your saleen chrome rims chipping or flaking. I'm the 3rd owner so the previous owners didn't take care of the rims to my standard. I would love to get my rims re-chromed but wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations on people they might have used.

Ive got 36K on mine and i think they are just about to start chipping. I wonder how much it costs to get them re-dipped?

My 04 has some chipping going on - on the inside of the rims.

A friend of mine has a set and his are peeling everywhere. Even the front face. Sad.

They are chromed and this is a common problem. Getting them rechromed by a quality place is the best move and will last a very long time.

It's not worth getting them redipped. Might as well powdercoat them. I got quoted for shipping and re-chroming 1,600.00 Might as well find some brand new ones for that price. Unless you have a local chroming shop then it will cost less.

They are chrome. Saleen stamped and everything. Good thing I just bought a brand new set from Saleen. Still in plastic wrap.

You'll have to keep looking around ebay. That is how I found my rear 18 by 10's. I bought the fronts 5 years ago. I bought them to put them on my 87 GT at the time. Parted the car out and kept the rims. Then found 2 rears for $400 and bought them right away.

So the years don't match, but all 4 are still in plastic wramp. Even came with this nice black felt on the front surface. Sometimes if you contact Saleen in MI, they could have something laying around.

A while back Saleen/SPV had some new 99-04 chrome wheels in stock? These are more common then other Saleen wheels and seem to be for sale quite often on ebay and clist.

I had a pair rechromed last year for 425 that included shipping. Came out great. My place was in south Florida if anyone interested.

Wheel Replica has some great replicas for the money...

Just gotta keep them really clean, in and out, and also don't use a wax with a cleaner.
