Default Shopping for replacement tires - Ideas?

Finally looking at replacement tires in a few months, but wanted to get a head start on my options.

For those of you who have changed:
Have you changed different manufactureres from the original factory tires?
What did you put on? Are you happier? Any you that you switched to, that you would not put on again?

My 2007 S331 came with BF Goodrich tires that handled well but wore fast and cost $400 ea when I replaced them. Tried General Tire after that only $230 ea but they didn't handle as well although were wearing well when I sold that truck. My current 2008 S331 has Continental Cross Tracks but I haven't had it long enough to know how they will hold up, seem to handle reasonably well. These 23" wheels don't allow for many choices so you will be limited no matter what you decide. Good Luck ~

He doesnt have that option, the Bfg's that came stock on this truck were discontinued last year. And the stock ones arent necessarily "always" better. Since they discontinued those tires I replace mine with the Nitto 420s and they were half the price and I have already gotten twice the wear out of them AND they perform better.
