Spotting: 2008 Heritage models
Hi all,
As part of my "Spotting 2008 Saleen online" hobby, I came across a picture of the Grabber Blue H302SC in Sydney. Unfortunately no shot of the bumper # https://www.autogespot.us/saleen-h302-v3/2010/09/28 I also had the "15 H302SCs built" number noted - I wonder where the error crept in, thanks @Dave for clearing up that there were only 8.

Just a thought that car could be the 2008 H281 Grabber Blue car also.

I missed that there were (non DG) H281’s. I haven’t actually spotted one, If the only difference is under the hood, you are totally correct. Now I need to do some sleuthing next time I’m in Sydney… :)
I wonder if @tony Day has ever come across this one? He is the master of all things Salween in Australia… Chris.

Looks like Dave tracked this down a long time ago, and sounds like you were spot on that it was the h281…

Got to get lucky once in a while! I thought albeit not very clear in the first pic you supplied that it said H-281 Heritage.

H-302 s/c
Now I’d like to find some of the H-302 S/C Models like mine. Seems they are real unicorns. I did see the Grabber Green from Miller’s Mustang Barn sold at Barrett-Jackson in 2016. But have not seen any either up for sale or owned. Dave?

I have "online spots" on 25 heritages out of 33. Not bad for an armchair hobby! :) Not all confirmed, and a bunch I am not sure if they are NA or SC. @Dave of course has much better data than I do, but its an enjoyable past time.

The 2008 H281 cars were both automatic transmission equipped. The H281 was not a model offered in MY 2008, so it may be safe to assume these remained stock engine cars because the Heritage series for '08 had the 302 engine conversion. The two 2008 H281 cars have 19" wheels and the shaker hood scoop. MY 2007 H281 Mustangs do not have the shaker hood and feature 18" wheels.
The Dark Horse Edition was a 2009 MY vehicle. This was the lone Heritage car offered for 2009. There was some talk of finishing the 300 unit run of Dan Gurney Editions using 2009 chassis, but this never materialized. As a side note: most all the MY 2009 Saleen and Racecraft Mustangs were produced during August-October 2008. The majority of these conversions were Racecraft models. |

The final 2008 Heritage model (non Dan Gurney Edition) was 08-0010. Shipped in October 2008.
Most of the MY 2008 Heritage cars (non Dan Gurney Edition) were produced in October and November of 2007. 08-0003 was the Saleen Inc media and demo vehicle for the H302 3-valve line. If you see a Candy Red H302 in vintage photos, it will probably be the #03 car. This #03 car was converted to SC specifications and repainted Grabber Blue when sold to the first owner. This car also has the post-title "Super Shaker" conversion. This was the lone Heritage SC to feature the ram air intake. The "Super Shaker" may have debuted as a Speedlab kit around mid-2008 (I don't remember). The air filtration system was not EPA legal. The 2009 Dark Horse side-stepped this buy calling it a post-title installation, even though they were shipped to dealers with this ram air induction installed. The watts-link rear stabilizer was an option on the 2008 H302 3-valve. Early production models do not appear to feature this item since the "version 2" update was not available. I could be mistaken. For the 2008 H302 3V, the 3.73 gears were an option. Standard wheels on the 2008 H302 3V were the silver painted 19" 5-spokes. Optional were chrome 19" 5-spokes. Standard wheels on the 2008 H302 SC were the silver painted 19" 7-spoke minilites. Optional were chrome 19" 5-spokes. So, if you ordered chrome wheels on an SC, you deleted the minilites. The 2008 H302 3V used the quad exhaust tips and mini front spoiler from the 2007 H281 3V. The 2008 H302 SC used the oval exhaust tips and large front spoiler from the 2007 S302 PJ. For 2008 Heritage cars, the rear louvers, hood pins, painted mirror caps and side roof scoops were optional. As well as the RF "Punch" trunk mounted sub. These 2008 Heritage cars were available in both coupe and convertible as well as in offered in all of the Saleen Custom Colors with additional 1970s "Grabber" hues. No 2008 Heritage convertibles were built and no one ordered a car in a Saleen Custom Candy Color. |

Hmm, checking your list @Dave, and H302 3-Valve 08-0013 seems to be missing. Looks to be Alloy in color - any possibility this is what you are actually listing as #10?

Is that perhaps a mix up? Looks like #19 is in Japan... https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid...1/profile.aspx Chris.

Did you put the stripes back on this car? #12, #13, #14 could be the last H302 SC models. Depends on how long the car sat completed before it you shipped out. I guess technically the "up-fitted" Grabber Blue SC was the final Heritage SC shipped out, but one of the three above were actually the final ones. #14 has the latest ship date. |

You are correct! I have a set of mini lites up in my loft that were painted a gun metal grey to match a 2005 S281. I have had them for a long time just need to find a company to strip and refinish them. Not sure how I feel though silver car/silver wheels. We will see.

Not a H-302 if you look close at the pic you can see it says on the fender 281 with Heritage underneath. Also has standard Ford Brakes up front. The 302 cars had big brakes installed on them.

That Grabber Blue car is most likely a S-281 because it has standard GT Front Brakes. All 302 Cars had Big Brakes.
