Default Q: Replacement serpentine belt? - 1999 S281 S/C

Folks,

I own a '99 S281 SC and need to replace my serpentine belt. I have tried unsuccessfully to obtain one via SALEEN parts. Does anyone know or recommend a suitable replacement? I believe that the belt size is approx. 117".

Regards,
Lou R.

It's a Dayco belt, call Dayco. The Item number was 20-8488.

Any luck with Dayco. I also have a 99 SC281 and am struggling to find a replacement belt. It keeps shreding belts which is driving me crazy.

No, from what I have read they used a 113" belt in 2000. 99 is the only year a 117" belt was used. CarQuest had a 117" Gates belt that I think will work. Have to get a new tensioner first.

Hey guyz,

This MAY help...For my 2002 with Series II SC and 66mm pulley

Got this from MoSaleen (Scott). If you have the stock S/C pulley you will run
4061125 Goodyear Gatorback belt. If you have the 66 mm S/C pulley run 4061120 same belt.

I forgot to mention this is for only if you have Mo's SC deflector pulley.

The gates belt is K061177 or something close to that. Can also get a duralast belt at autozone 1178K6.

Those are coolant ports which are used for delivering coolant to the air to water intercooler that is inside of the intake manifold. The go from the back of the manifold to the second (and much larger) intercooler that is at the front of the car. If the car doesn’t have those lines I believe you can still purchase them new on eBay.

I have a new Saleen belt I just got. It’s to long for my 99. I have a mosaleen pulley on the car. Looks like I need around a 112” belt. Taking the one that was on the car tomorrow to match it up. But I have the factory 117” if someone needs it.

With the MoSaleen (spelling) belt is around 112” when in the shop I’ll post back a part number to aid others if needed. Thank you all for the assist.
