New Purchase: 90-0171 is Cali Bound for House of Diesel
Well after a long hiatus since I sold my Parnelli Jones I am officially back in the club. Been itching for years to own another car and after another father and I were talking cars while escorting our boys on a DC trip I've been on the hard search ever since, but looking for something that I could toy with a bit and make my own.
So I'm really happy that I found this car and the transfer of ownership from the buyer. Both us being Ford guys was pretty nice. Basically he and his daughter both own Fox Saleens. This one was originally his daughters but he traded his daughter his wife's black convertible so they were letting this one go. It originally came out of Florida and unbeknownst to them when they recently transferred ownership to the seller from his daughter it was tagged as rebuilt in 1993 from previous owner in Florida. So the gentleman was more than fair in adjusting the price to close the deal. How well do these cars hold their value having the dreaded Rebuild/Salvage on their title? For me it is even more the perfect fit since my plan is to install the newly re-released KB (Kenne Bell) Blowzilla and wanted it as a full driver anyways to really enjoy. I had sold the Parnelli due to the fact it wasn't much fun owning a car that just sat most of the time because I didn't want to put miles on it or drive it like it was made to so that I did not hurt the value. Only part that I was told was not factory was the hood as it is Fiberglass. So plans are Wheels, Tires, KB Charger & Engine Build. I probably work on figuring out wheel and tire combo and drive it for while before diving in but gotta do the charger pretty soon as they will only be reproducing them for a limited time. |

I have a pair of White Saleen ARE wheels that are in very good shape if you are wanting to go the factory route on the wheels.
EDIT - Nevermind, I see now that car is a 1990. |

Thanks. I'm going to go full resto mod and go to a wishbone or relocate the anti wrap shocks and see how fat I can go out back.

Should probably take a 275 or so (depending on brand), before you have a serious rubbing problem.
The quad's really aren't the issue, they can be flipped for more clearance. It soon becomes the inner tubs and the tail pipes. I run a bfg 275 35 18 drag radial, flipped quads. Probably about a 10.5 inch tire. I had to use a panhard bar to keep them from rubbing on the inner wheel wheel with the fenders rolled on the outside. There just isn't the room for much wider without it becoming a serious project, especially if you have to keep the tail pipes. As for the supercharger reproduction, be careful, rumor has it that it's missing something, I can't remember what everyone was complaining about, but it might be the bypass. I'm not totally sure, just look into it.

Yep I have to restore all of the emissions garb to even get it to pass smog. We have a few good shops here in San Jose that have extensive experience with the Mustangs so they should be able to get it all set up properly. I did the charger on my '95 F-250 with a 351W myself but I'm too busy to do it myself these days. Worse case I have property in Texas and can register it there. Or are you referring to an EGR bypass for the kits? I think they had to retain it for them to be 50 state legal. |

I'll send you a link later to a conversation I saw on stangnet.
Bit confusing to me because i'm not a big kb fan on pushrod engines (even less after seeing it's $4500 with a flowzilla inlet). I thought it was interesting enough to read, but it's surely not somewhere I have extensive knowledge. The basic point seemed to be tps was using pics of an old kit with a boost bypass, but delivering kits without it. Also seemed to be a little odd that they were making 40 kits. 3 were left but they were still aggressively seeking sales. Surely, 3 kits would not be too hard to sell out of 40. And the conversation took place months ago.

2023 SCOA Nationals
Was a great show. Huge thanks to Kenne Bell and TPS Motorsports for getting the SC to me and installed for the show. Peter Filippatis did a fabulous job refurbishing the Sterns. Very grateful also to all the hard work for Saleen and SCOA members to put on the event. Next step is to tighten up some loose ends and swap gears out to 3.27. With the T56 and the charger I was starting in 2nd and flying through the RPM range faster than I could upshift to 3rd. The Maximum Motorsports suspension is an absolute dream. Now I can really cruise and enjoy it like a modern Mustang.

Interior Upgrades & Stang-holic Hood
Also just realized I never posted pics of the interior upgrades and Stang-holic hood. Love how the hood mimics the Beast and SA10.
