Default Q: Anyone install a strut tower brace? - Brand & Photos Please!

Anyone running a strut tower bar on their supercharged car? I want to buy one, but I'm not sure which one will fit. I'm running a Kenne Bell 2.1 blower.

Any details would be awesome...

What is the part number on that bar and I'm wondering if it fits the KB blower as well? I'm also wondering if the hood is higher on the cobra to clear the bar...

Any other feedback would be great.

I'm running one on my n/a car. it was a Kenny Brown that i got cheap from a swap meet. it was actually made for a 03-04 cobra so it might have the clearance you are looking for on your s/c car. when i first test fit it was to high because of supercharger clearance designed for the cobra. i actually cut it down at both ends and re-welded it so it would fit under my hood. i really wanted the Kenny brown because i didn't want to drill into my strut towers most other require you too. i wanted a true bolt in brace. as you can see i painted it to match the car.

Thanks for the props on the brace. There is no hood prop, those UPR hinges open and lock back on themselves and hold the hood up. They are really trick pieces.

im looking into the redline strut kit. do you think you could use that strut tower with an 03 04 cobra hood over top a saleen series 4 blower?

The way he modded it, I don't think it would work with a blower. It looks too low. If you have a cobra hood, you have many options for a tower brace, without having to mod it. The Cobra hood is higher than my Saleen hood. That's why my friends Maximum Motorsports brace wouldn't work on my car, as I explained above in my original post.

Before I modded the Kenny brown it wasnt crazy high. I was able to close my hood with it on it just sitting high, the hood wasn't level with the fenders. So if you can find a one for the cobra it would probably fit.

Make sense. what i was asking was would it work before modding it with a cobra hood and saleen blower. I like how it actually connects to the struts.

Can you post some photos of yours, Oxford?

I have some sophisticated clearance measuring ahead. I'm going to lay a piece of paper on top of my supercharger and also tape a piece to the underside of my hood. Then I'm going slap a big chunk of Play-Doh on top of my blower, then close my hood. Measuring completed. That should do the trick

This weekend I installed a Steeda 2-pt brace. It just clears my Anderson Powerpipe and it has a ton of clearance between my KB.

The front end feels a bit tighter and more solid. Great cheap mod!!

I have a factory STB I installed on my 1998. Just had to modify the pinch weld on the cowl panel and drill some holes to make it fit.

Which Steeda brace is it? the one for the mach 1? the cobra one?

Pretty cool if it would fit under a SC hood.

To resurrect this thread....the steeda 2 point strut tower brace may fit over a KB but does NOT fit over the series II supercharger.

Looks like a Maximum Motorsports 2003/04 Cobra (w/ Kenne Bell or Whipple) brace without the other two legs.

I think I found it, it is a Steeda 2point for the 03/04 Cobra:

I would've thought the steeda cobra one would fit but it doesn't. I just lost $30 finding out the hard way.

Yes I'm bringing the thread back once again

I want a 3 point one that WILL work with my 2003 series IV. Is there such a thing???

From what I've read below, looks like the Maximum Motorsports 3 point won't work and the only yes seems to be the Steeda 2 point for the Cobra. Would love to have a 3 point if possible. Live in the Northern Country so gotta make sure it fits. Returning is expensive and a pain in the (shall we say) **** and to re-sell means taking a hit for no reason.

Any help from guys would be awesome

I bought the maxium Motorsport one and it does clear the supercharger. Just the extreme hood won't close. Really no way either to modify it to work. Guess the cobra hood has a higher cowl lift.

On a side note anyone wanna buy a strut brace. Brand new. Haha

That's the relocation bracket used in the Kennebell kit.

I'm gonna bring this one back just so I can confirm to others who may be looking that a Steeda two point for the Cobra WILL NOT work with a 2003 Series IV supercharger and a heat extractor hood. Put it in place and couldn't get the hood to close. I was told it would work somewhere along the way but didn't work for me. Just wanted to share that in case someone else is looking to try it. Now I gotta return it

I will also confirm that the 03/04 Cobra Steeda 2 point brace will not fit under the stock Saleen Heat Extractor hood. Will try to fit it under my Trufiber Extreme hood once I get it painted and installed.

I just installed this on a series 1 exact brace 03-04 cobra. It cleared no problem and my heat extractor hood clears it too!

I believe it will. I'm putting one on my 96 with a heat hood but no supercharger. Did you sell the cobra?

Thanks. I'm gonna try it. Still have the Cobra. Will be putting it up for sale in the spring possibly at F40 Motorsports with Wayne Carini if I can't sell it on my own.

Here it is over a series 1 with the factory ford strut caster/camber assembly. I need longer bolts to run the maximum motorsports unit.

Also I restored my coolant tank so a couple after pictures.

I would've thought the steeda cobra one would fit but it doesn't. I just lost $30 finding out the hard way.
Having a series IV supercharger, I'm glad to see this :)
