Unhappy Q: Wipers rub the Saleen banner?

Ok,this question does not apply to you guys that do not drive your car in the rain because it will start to melt.

BUT, does it seem like the way the wipers go over the Saleen banner on the windshield, that we are destined to have it wear prematurely and have to have it replaced every couple of years?

Those of you that drive in the rain, please chime in...Thanks.

You could put on the smaller banner.

Default 09 Saleen banner

I put the 09 banner.. I love it.. Some people on this forum hate it..
I like it because it looks cleaner, more modernly updated (less is more), you have a clear view, ie: if you go the drive in theatre, you don't see the banner anymore. and as you mentioned, the windshield wipers to don't touch them... but I avoid the rain as well because my car will melt as also.

I got mine off the Saleen site when they sold them...you have to find it on ebay when they show up.. I just checked...couldn't find it...
re:rims.. I don't do anything special, or use special products.. I just give a good wipe down with microfiber cloths .

My original banner melted the first time I went through rain. I replaced it with a matte black one and have been through rain numerous times without any issues. I think the sun gets to them over time. Chemical guys makes a matte detailer that is also a protectant that can be used on the banner and other decals.

As always, you guys always have an answer and thank you Saleen bros!!!!!

I think I like the original size better than the 09 smaller banners. I think I will either go with shorter wipers or replace every couple of years. It isn't the money, more of a b*tch to do every so often (call me lazy!).

thanks! I think I paid $100. Custom done from here:
http://www.redlinegoods.com/Padding.php
I wished the logo was half the size... I didn't realize it was gonna turn out so big... still good quality.. I got it done in the same leather as my seats and the same white stitching to match as well.

I had this problem on my '89 back in '91 and it bugged me too...so I started using RainX all the time. Never use my wipers unless I absolutely have to for safety...to this day....and the last banners I got were old and didn't lay well either...so I'm not a fan of replacing them.

I just turned the wipers to where they were rubbing and subtracted to get the size so it wouldn't rub, worked like a charm....

Yup...smaller wipers it is! I guess there is no point in having the oe longer wipers if it wipes a top portion of the window that I cannot see out of anyway.

Details, details, details.
