Default question about 0001 serial number

I am new to Saleen's and I purchased a Saleen with a 0001 serial number? Does this significantly increase my cars value?

Hi and welcome to The Saleen Forums @ SOEC.org!

Can you give a few more details about your 01 vehicle? The low digit cars are a great novelty!

It is the 09-0001. It is a Saleen Supercharged Sport Model and apparently there were only 3 made. It also has the 14" brake upgrades and supershaker installed before factory delivery.

Thanks

I believe this one was at a dealer down south for a bit. When it was new.

We have/had a black, 2009 S281 S/C Sport Coupe up here as well. One of our local Ford Dealers signed up as a Saleen retailer in late 2008 and received a black Sport.

The dealer eventually placed chevrons on the car.

The 2009s are fairly rare and a nice curiosity.

Yeah it was. I actually bought it new last week. It was still there at the dealership... I don't know how it wasn't sold yet?!? I picked it up in GA. I will post some pics up from the dealer today and I'll try to get some more pics up tonight.

Thanks

Thanks! I will get more pics when I get finished on the detail. I am removing every minor swirl that can be seen with 1000w of light on it... trying to get it perfect...

I can't get over the sound from the shaker hood!

Can anyone enlighten me on how to get this car to hook up? Every time I go past 3/4 throttle in 1st, 2nd and 3rd I just loose traction. Is it because of the 3.73 rear end, or do I need wider tires... ?

Thanks

You're tellin me man! I have an 06 Extreme with the 4.10 Maxgrip diff, with the 20x10's in the back so i am gonna go with 305/35/20 Nitto 555R drag radials and see how that helps, also putting on Metco lower rear control arms, i am doing these things before i start adding bolt ons to make more power because even with the power the car makes stock i cant put it to the ground without losing traction...

Looks kinda like mine. I am suprised there isn't the sc hood w/ new mesh vents?
sweet ride, I thought all of the 09 rides came with the speed star (dark horse) rims? Props to the shaker w/ spoiler delete!

No spoiler or sc hood because this is called a "sport" model that was to replace the red flag value line. There were only 3 of these cars made according to my letter from saleen.

I believe the Sports were equipped with the wagon wheels, the S281 S/C & S302 S/C had the chrome SpeedStars, and the S302 E could receive either the forged 5-stars or SpeedStars. Don't quote me, but close, if not.

my msrp was $56k. To be honest I would never have paid that. Bought it used a year later for almost half that.

To be honest, I'm not sure there were ever a set of rules concerning what option could/couldn't go on what model... I think at that point, ASC would have sold anything to anyone with $$$ like a crack head looking for a next hit.

my 06 stickered at just short of $56k and I got it new for $53000, only because I knew the GM at the store. They were real hesitant to reduce the price at all at that time. Thats why it kills me to see these new 06's and 07's still on dealer lots. I did hook up at 0% for 72 months tho so that is about $11000 in intrest savings

There's a chance that your 09-0001 S281 S/C Sport is the vehicle pictured in the background with the first S302 S/C.

http://saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?p=34385

It could appear that all the 2009 S281 S/Cs, whether a discount Sport or full-on S/C shared the same production numbers.
