Nice! Looks like a CF splitter under the nose, I should call and see if they will make another
one for my 11 to match the painted/CF rear wing...

My 11 doesn't have the Saleen lettering under the doors either and I always thought it
looked like it was missing something... Hmmmm...

If the white 2010 coupe was "Storm Trooper", what is this, "Darth Vader"?

Looks good. Never been a fan of convertables but I feel like the the tonneau cover would look 10x better if it was taller behind the seats. It would give it more of an exotic 2 seater look instead of just a rear seat cover, but maybe thats just me...

I agree, I am not a fan of flat black, seems to be the hot thing right now though. Rest of the car looks good

Nice vehicle

Like it all except for the spoiler. Looks better without or perhaps some sort of conversion to the 05-09 baby tray spoiler.

To me it looks like a model that you just took out of the box and put it
together without painting it.

I dont care for the unfinished look. I really like the car but wouldnt ever pick anything like that. Gloss black with red accents.....a new RF!!

No confusion or deception it is a 2011, all of the 2012 cars they have been are already sold to customers. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Ok...so I guess in the future rainbows or rust will be the new style and youll jump on that bandwagon too because it NEW??

It looks unpainted & I dont care for that. Its just my opinion...

I do like the style though and said nothing contrary to that....
Again, I just dont care for the lack of paint. It looks unfinished.

Take that same car and Mystichrome it and I would be drooling!!

Car looks okay, but they need to be reducing bulk from the look, not adding to it. The front hood would look so much better with a heat extraction hood where it is visibly reducing the front thickness of the car from the side view. The tonneau is just design gone wild. Again, it looks very added on and increases the rear side girth of the car instead of flowing with the lines and adding a tonneau two seater look with the bumps behind the driver and passenger seats. The rear spoiler does not belong on this car. It looks like a total after thought. Remove that thing and let the body flow. Just have a Ferarri 360 type bump coming up from the rear flanks to the high point along the back of the trunk. Something to make it look professional. Get ride of that stupid Saleen tail light panel and make it a "thin" black wire mesh or something with a small Saleen badge and model number on it. I have always hated that plastic piece and can not believe it is still used. Finally punt those wheels already. Five spokes or a variation of 5 spoke wheels are all that should go on a Mustang. I do believe that. Those old Dark Horse wheels are just not it.

Beyond that, I can not believe, Mark did not put Yellow and White stripe pieces on the side sills. Interior is great but seat insert colors should have been Yellow and White stripes not Red.

Car is okay, but not there yet. Unfortunately SMS cars are not there either for looks. Anxiously awaiting completely new Mustang style as this one is done to death already.

Going to have to disagree w/ you on that one. The rear end of the 2010-2012 Saleens are the best rear end of any 2010+ stang out to this date. They got it right !

Wicked, you miss interpret my comments. I am saying that all 2010+ rear ends suck on the new Mustangs. The problem is Ford screwed it up to start with and everyone else is left polishing a turd. The Saleen 2005 to 2009 rear ends are much, much nicer and cleaner.

Anxiously awaiting a completely new Mustang in years to come.

Not a huge fan of the flat black.....I think all cars should shine. The Saleen piece on the rear trunk area does look cheap and should be switched with something else. Other than that, love it....mean looking machine!!

So what was the point of that booth at SEMA? I didn't really have time to stop and ask them why they were even there.

From what I hear, they are giving up the Saleen name in pretty short order as the lawsuit is over and Steve got his name back. So what are they going to call themselves, and who is going to buy a car from this company that hasn't yet unveiled the new company name, which to me, would have been a perfect time at SEMA to do so. Seems like some pretty poor marketing to me.

I just don't get it.

?????????? Why would you make a statement like this without knowing ANY of the facts?? The suit is not over and Steve has not gotten his name back. I am sure the court records are available, and you will read quite a different story.

Thank you

As a Speedster owner myself i have to be quite honest and say i dont really like the look of the car. Sure the matte black finish is cool and all but i never liked the tonneau cover design for this gen mustang. IMO it looks all wrong, doesnt really enhance the look of the car. Previous saleen speedsters transformed the look of the mustang into something very sleek and exotic, so much so that many couldnt identify the fact of it being a mustang. This car really doesnt have the proportions to pull it off. Simular to some models of the Porsche in speedster form that appeared too 'bloated'.

Although not a speedster, i was impressed with the lines of the lee Iacocca edition mustang, with the extended rear window/b pillar treatment simular to late model mustangs. It stretched the overall look of the stang giving a far more sexy look.
http://www.mustang-parts.org/news/le...a-mustang.html

They also applied the notion of 'less-is more' and in that case it worked beautifully.

With that said im also sure this saleen speedster looks may be a bit more appealing in person rather than pictures. But i doubt ide be sold on the current tonneau cover design which looks like its a poor attempt to fill a gap. to me, unlike past saleen speedsters it simply doesnt help the cars looks if anything if hurts it.

Simply because of what I was told last week.

Why would you make the above statement alluding to the fact that you know ALL the facts without divulging what you know, since what you purport to know is quite different than what I was led to believe?

As I stated, it didn't seem to make sense to me to see Saleen Speedlabs at SEMA with a booth. Rumor has it Saleen Speedlabs has not built a customer car in some time. Seems as if conflicting information is coming out, and I'd like to know what is true.

I understand the whole piece being black is not that amazing - however when color is added to the SALEEN Logo on the back looks x10 better as you can see on the New Saleen SR below....

So as far as the 2005-2012 Saleen/SMS Tonneu Cover - Since its the same part aside from saying Saleen or SMS on the center piece between the seats. I do like the look of it on the Speedsters. And yes it does line up to the lines on the car. Next time you look at the lines of the Saleen SC hood, look at them front the front and then look through the front windshield on to the tonneu cover and you will see how amazing it lines up. Now I can understand the fact about the tonneu cover is missing the humps behind the driver and passanger seats from its earlier 99-04 model. But none the less it is just a diffrent design and if you like the humps then you wont like no humps and vica versa

Yeah i know its the same tonneau cover from before, (often seen on many stang sites in Yellow). Since i havent seen one in person as of yet, with only pics as reference IMO it doesnt seem to flow with cars design. Or maybe i should say to me it looks like an additional piece instead of a standard part of the car. still... it looks better than porsche attempt to tonneau the 911

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/09/29/p...s-a-blue-note/

now thats a trainwreck!

And hey.. if you guys say this saleen speedster looks great in person then i believe ya.
After all i do think saleen owners have good taste! LOL

A few things to keep in mind.

- The Speedster cover introduced in 2006 had to fit over rear headrest bumps. A feature of all 2005-10 Mustang convertibles.

- The 2005-2009 (and 2010-Present) Mustang was (is) a larger vehicle than the 1994-98 and 1999-04.

- There was an idea to make the S197 Speedster cover breakable to store in the trunk. A feature that did not happen.

Another note to keep in mind, with the revised S197 2013 Mustang set to debut in a few days, some of the restyling items currently on the market for 2010-12 Mustangs may need revised.

Looks like Ford at least updated the bumper covers, hood, tail lights, and maybe the trunk and rocker covers for 2013. Most of which does not render the 2010-2012 appearance kits obsolete.
