Default Q: Locate Ford Water Pump Pulley? - 2001 S281

I am replacing my water pump pulley. I had the original red powder coated and I am going back to a black look again. What is the best replacement one and part number? It is for the 01-699 vehicle.

Judging from a previous post you made, you have an SC car. I am under the impression that no SC cars got the Saleen underdrive pulley kit from Saleen. I may be wrong and please correct me if I am. If you have an SC car, and your water pump pulley is red, it probably is not original to your Saleen vehicle. Does it have the Saleen markings on it? That said a replacement in my opinion would be a stock water pump pulley. For that matter I would just replace the water pump as a kit? If needed? Or, if all is well with that pulley and water pump, I would leave it be. What do you think? Anyone else?

Thanks so much for your input. Yes you are completely correct as mine did not come with the Saleen underdrive pulley set up. Mine is red but because I powdercoated my pulleys for effect in shows. I ordered and got a stock water pump pulley just recently via Ebay. I just felt like going back to a black set up.

Are you able to find a used pulley from a salvage yard?

I actually was able to get an updated version off of EBAY. Here is the set up I ended up with.

Do the red accents match the exterior of the car? Looks very clean.

Yes I got the original 01-699 with 52 miles on it. We are the only owners. Here is a photo.

Very clean S281, congratulations on being the original owner!

Do you participate in many car shows?

Yes in fact I do. That picture is from an event. We have done a few thousand since 2001. We also got to see Steve Saleen at the Texas event in 2013. I also met him at one of the local dealerships in 2006 and had him sign the glove box. The car has also done a few Autorama events in Dallas and another event in the Dallas/Fort Worth area put on my the North Texas Mustang Club called the Yellow Rose. I bought the 01-699 with 52 miles on it and now we are a bit over 37,000. I kind of wish it did not have so many miles on it but it does not get trailered and so we like to drive!!!!!!!!
