Default Q: Spark plug change for PJ?

My PJ has 22,000 miles on it. I've heard plugs can get stuck in the head. Should I change now or wait?

I did have them changed for Champions 1-piece plugs when I bought my PJ @ 14.000 miles.
Just in case. Better safe than sorry.

Assuming the PJ has the same two piece Autolite plugs as the 3v 4.6 liter engines I would get them changed by a good shop. The bottom of these plugs can break off and remain in the head. Ford has a specific technique to remove them but even with that it can be a problem. Look up the plug on the Autolite website and read about the procedure for installing them with nickel anti-seize on the heat shield portion of the plug.

I would not do it myself due to the possible problems the first time. Once the new plugs are in there will be less risk of breaking them in the future due to the anti-seize coating.

With 22,000 miles getting them out shouldn't really be an issue. I would at least pull them and put some anti seize on them to avoid problems later.
