1988 a/c compressor

I've been having trouble with my a/c not blowing cold. Had it recharged twice and now they found the trouble is with the compressor. The Ford dealer can't find a replacement and recommends to have mine rebuilt for $800. I have found several rebuild compressors on-line in the $200-$300 range. The Ford dealer is willing to install what ever I find but warns me to make sure the numbers on the back of the compressor match.

My question is, which number? I've got these numbers on the back of mine.

E2EH-190623-AA
8G 00440
BG 5236 or it might be 8G 5236

Any advise and help will be greatly appreciated.
