Saleen SR race cars, Info, Pics, articles
 

After talking to a few people on this forum and discussing info on the Saleen SR race cars. I thought it would be a good idea to start a separate thread about it and see what info others may have out there about these cars. Since there isnt much out there or only a few people know of anything about these cars I figured we could have a spot to put all that info somewhere. I have a few articles that I have scanned and a lot of photos of the old cars. Many are the same cars but have been repainted through the years. So if you have any info on these cars,have articles on them,pics or what ever that includes these cars...Please post it. That way we call all know more about these really cool cars.

This one was for sale last year in the UK, Came with extras sets of wheels and a full set of spare body panels. What I was told it was the 3rd car that saleen brought with them to Le Mans but did not pass inspection and did not race

Awesome thread...thanks for posting... At a question and answer session at Carlisle last year, I asked Steve if he would like to get Saleen back into racing. His answer was a definitive "yes" ; and he even mentioned that he would like to get back behind the wheel himself. How cool would that be?

I was at the auto fair in Charlotte this weekend and came across this watercolor of the Le Mans race. Easily the find of the weekend for me.

For those of you who do not follow the Saleen-Allen Facebook page yet, there is some interesting news about one of the two 1997 Le Mans cars. It has recently been sold to a collector from Switzerland, who is currently having it restored and has shared a lot of pictures to the page.
